The First 100% Australian Made Double Fold Camper Trailer

Thousands of Australians can trace their first camping memories back to family holidays in the iconic Cub Drifter. The 6-berth family off-roader first hit the scene in the 1970s and although production stopped in the late ‘90s, their robust design and family-orientated setup means that it’s not uncommon to see these ever-popular camper trailers pop up at campsites all around the country to this very day.

Building on what made the original Drifter such a success, as well as drawing inspiration from market demands for double-fold camper trailers, Cub Campers has officially launched the Drifter II – a new generation of family camper trailer for the next generation of Aussie campers.

The Drifter II is the only Australian Made double fold camper trailer on the market and the designers at Cub have taken cues from across their range to create the ultimate family camper trailer. The Drifter II combines the comforts and space of a caravan with the functionality of a camper trailer. The Drifter II is also one of the fastest and easiest double folds to set up, requiring only one person and around three minutes before you’re ready to relax and enjoy your campsite to the fullest.

On the interior, the Drifter II can comfortably sleep 6 people across 3 double beds. The main sleeping area features a 1960 x 1500 Pocket Spring Mattress for maximum comfort, while the rear end of the camper sports a comfy 1660 x 1370 medium-foam mattress for the kids or guests. If you find that you’ve picked up a few extra bodies along the way, the dinette area converts to a third sleeping area, perfect for extended family members or friends.

Externally, the high-quality kitchen features a fold-out shelf, SMEV 3 burner stainless steel stove, a stainless steel sink and LED lighting. The Drifter II also features an extra-long 1400mm pantry drawer, providing loads of space for supplies on those extended holidays. Our customers have told us how important storage space is so the Drifter II includes a luggage rack at the front of the trailer, and we have also included a 100 litre heavy duty water tank as standard – meaning less of the additional storage space will be needed for additional water on those long trips.

As with all Cub Camper models, Cub Campers is proud to design, manufacture and maintain the Drifter II in Australia. Built with exceptionally high-quality Australian products, such as Australian Bluescope Steel and Wax Converters Australian canvas, customers can be confident in the quality and relentless reliability everyone has come to expect from Cub Campers.  Cub Campers is proud of our reputation for delivering great products where customers can focus on their holiday knowing that their camper trailer is high quality, reliable and durable, and the new Drifter II will continue that Cub Campers tradition.

The Drifter II will officially launch at the Newcastle Caravan & Camping Show from the 7th to the 9th February 2020. Keep an eye on the Cub website and Facebook page over the coming weeks for more photographs and the official Drifter II video.
